Doing Our Part

  • All catering comes standard with biodegradable, eco-friendly sugarcane plateware.
  • All catering comes standard with plant starch material cutlery and Biodegradable, compostable napkins.
  • All catering cups are from recycled material and are recyclable
  • Upgraded to 48 service pieces of china to be more sustainable in catering and will continue to add.
  • Retail locations use eco-friendly serviceware.
  • All grab and go items we produce are in eco-friendly containers in retail.
  • Mund uses Green seal certified napkins in the dining hall and retail
  • Mund uses reusable china, silverware and cups to be more sustainable.
  • Mund uses a reusable green takeout container to reduce paper waste with takeout. 
  • Mund uses the last straw program where you must request a straw instead of it being a staple item.
  • Offer hormone-free milk and fair trade coffee and other options such as cage-free eggs
  • Seasonal menu to reduce carbon footprint.
  • Metz is the largest recycler on campus cans,bottles, cardboard and office paper
  • We donate $10,000 in meals to the Dutchman Pantry for meal insecurities
  • Collect unused flex to provide meal insecurity passes for students in need to eat in the dining hall.
  • We donate meals to the Caring Cupboards of Palmyra.
  • Donate to Local food banks with can drives.
  • Donate unseasoned meat to the wolf sanctuary.
  • Donate Humane Society unused meats. 
  • During our walk into work we collect trash to keep the campus clean and beautiful.
  • New dishmachine is more energy and water efficient.
  • We use local purveyors like Best of Lancaster County which lets us get local meats, cheeses and prepared foods.
  • We partner with Restaurant Technologies that recycles all of our used cooking oil and turns it into Biodiesel.
  • Have a small garden on the north side of Mund for produce for the summer months.
  • We have mostly digital menus and smarter signs to reduce our paper waste.
  • We work with Leanpath to identify waste and waste patterns. To better run our business with the smallest carbon footprint by reducing waste and optimize production.
